How to Replace Epson CX7450 Ink Cartridges (8 Steps)
Lift the entire scanner unit on your Epson CX7450 by its sides, gently, until it rests at an angle in an open position.
Push the 'Stop' button. The cartridge holder moves to the center, where the spent cartridge lines up with the empty droplet image featuring a diagonal line through it, on the printer housing. Push the “Stop” button again. Each spent cartridge will line up with the droplet image. If the remaining cartridges contain sufficient amounts of ink the holder moves to the right side of the printer.
Grip the cartridge cover and pull it gently toward you to reveal the ink cartridges.
Unlock a cartridge from the holder by pressing its grooved tab. Grip the cartridge between your fingers and pull it straight up and out of your printer.
Pull the yellow tape from the bottom of the replacement cartridge and insert it into the cartridge holder—pressing down on the cartridge to make certain that the electrical contacts meet.
Replace other cartridges one by one as needed.
Flip the cartridge lid over the cartridges and press down to secure it in place.
Return the scanner carefully to its original position, press the 'Stop' button and wait for the power 'On' light to stop flashing (approximately two minutes). When it stops, begin printing.

How to Print a Self Test Report on a Printer
Plug the printer into a working electrical outlet. Ensure the printer is turned to “On.”
Select several sheets of clean, white printer paper. Tap the paper stack on a hard, flat surface to align the edges. Check the paper for rips, curls, wrinkles or bent edges. Remove and discard any unsatisfactory pages. Insert the stack of paper into the input tray, short edge forward. Slide the stack forward until it stops. Do not force the stack beyond its initial stopping point.
Locate the control panel on the front of the printer. Press the Setup Button located on the bottom center of the control panel, beneath the LED readout. Press 2 to select “Print Reports,” then press 6 to select “Self-Test Report” on the number keypad on the control panel located to the left of the Setup Button.
Examine the resulting self-test page that prints. There should be lines extending all the way across the page in black, yellow, cyan and magenta. A missing black line indicates a problem with the black or photo cartridge. Faded, streaked or missing lines in the other colors indicates a problem with the color ink cartridge.
How to Reset an HP 901 Print Cartridge (5 Steps)
Insert the HP 901 cartridge that you want to use into the printer. A message displays on the screen that the printer wants to print a test page with the cartridge. Allow this page to print completely.
Remove the cartridge that you want to use from the printer and lay it on its side so that the bottom of the cartridge doesn't touch a surface. If the bottom of the cartridge touches a surface, ink may leak out, especially in a refilled cartridge.
Replace the cartridge you want to use in the printer with a new HP 901 cartridge. The test page message appears on the screen again. Allow the test page to print out completely.
Take the new HP 901 cartridge out of the printer. Place the second new HP 901 cartridge into the printer. When the test page message comes up, wait for the test page to finish printing.
Pull this third cartridge out of the printer, and return the cartridge that you want to use (the one you refilled) to the printer. The test page message appears on the screen, and the printer once again prints a test page. At this point, the printer should read the refilled HP 901 cartridge as a new ink cartridge and the ink monitor should read as full.
How to Scan Documents With an Epson Printer
Place the original document you want to scan on the printer's automatic document feeder. (This is the clear surface under the printer's hardware cover.)
Open the Epson Printer portal on your computer. (Epson installs a print setup module on your computer with the installation of the device's software drivers.)
Click the drop-down bar below the 'Mode' setting to select what type of document scan you want to conduct.
Choose a scanning mode based on the three options available for Epson printers. (See Tips for scan mode suggestions.)
Click the radio button next to the color mode you want for the document. Three options, 'Color,' 'GrayScale,' and 'Black and White' will be available.
Select the ADF action to indicate the document is placed in the Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) for scanning. This will direct the printer to the document.
Click the drop-down bar below the 'Scanning Resolution' settings and select the resolution that best fits your particular document.
Click on the 'Scan' at the bottom of the scan settings to send the action to the Epson printer. The scanned document will appear in a new preview window on your computer screen once the scan is complete.

How to Print Labels From Your Computer's Printer
Load the unprinted label paper into your home printer. Make sure to arrange the paper so the printer imprints on the sticker side of the paper.
Download the appropriate template for your labels from the company's web page. The label type and number is usually printed clearly on the front of the label package. Refer to this information on the company's website. Save the template on your computer.
Open Microsoft Word, an Adobe program, or another word processor, and click 'File' then 'Open' on the main toolbar. Navigate to the folder where the template was downloaded and click 'OK.'
Edit the labels using the word processor. Enter text or pictures to print on the labels.
Click on 'File' then 'Print' from the main toolbar at the top of the screen. At the preview screen, check the orientation of the labels to ensure they align correctly. Click 'Print.'
Review the printed labels for any overprinting or misaligned text.
