How to Fix Blinking Lights in an HP DeskJet Printer

Plug in your laptop's power adapter. Make sure that both ends of the adapter are securely connected to both the laptop and to the power source (such as the wall socket or power strip). If the screen turns on, you may use your computer. If not, it is possible that the battery is completely depleted.
Wait 30 minutes to allow the battery to sufficiently charge. Press the power button to reboot the computer. If the blinking has stopped, then a low battery was to blame for the problem. If the blinking continues, proceed to Step 3.
Download the 'softpaq' file for your laptop from the HP support website. This file includes BIOS and driver updates. You will need to enter your geographical location and the model number of your laptop (see the first Resource link). Once the softpaq file has downloaded, double-click the file to launch the installation wizard. Follow all on-screen prompts. You may need to restart your computer. Once installation is complete, your BIOS should be fully updated. If you still see blinking lights, continue to the next step.
Count the number of blinks. All HP computers are programmed with error light codes. Figuring out the code will help you find the root of the problem.
