How to Hook Up a Printer Fax Scanner to a Computer


Position the printer/fax/scanner unit in a place that is convenient to you. Make sure the unit is close enough so that the USB cable can reach the printer.
Power on your computer and the printer/fax/scanner unit. Wait for the printer ready light to come on.
Log on to your computer and insert the driver CD that came with the printer/fax/scanner unit. Do not connect the USB cable from the computer to the printer yet.
Install the program from the driver CD. The CD will pop up an installation window. Follow the instructions listed on the screen.
Attach the USB cable from the computer to the printer when prompted during the software installation. Attach the square end of the USB cable to the back of the printer, and the flat end to the computer.
Print a test page. Verify that the test page prints properly.
