How to Troubleshoot Printer Problems With Landscape Portrait

Check the alignment of the input tray on the printer. If you are using a desktop inkjet printer, check the paper tray and make sure it is properly lined up and that the paper is feeding in straight. If the paper is feeding crooked, the tray rollers may need to be replaced. If you are using a desktop laserjet printer, pull the tray out and look at the paper guides. These guides need to be set for the size paper you are using.
Pull the trays out of your network printer one at a time if you are working with a multiple-tray printer. Pull all of the trays out, then push one of the trays in and try your print. If you can print portrait and landscape documents from one tray but not another, the paper guides on the problem tray are misaligned.
Pull out the problem tray far enough to see the paper guides, then carefully adjust them to fit the size paper you are using. If you are using legal-size paper, make sure the sliders on the tray are positioned for that paper size.
Check the margins you are using in your program by opening the document on your computer and clicking on the 'File' menu. Choose 'Page Setup' from the menu and adjust your margins as needed. Many printers cannot handle zero-size margins, so you may need to adjust your margins until your printout looks as it should. You can click on the 'File' menu and choose 'Print Preview' from the menu to see how your document will look on the printed page.
