How Can I Connect 3 PCs to 1 Printer? (5 Steps)

Check the documentation that came with your computers to find out if they have Ethernet network cards or wireless network cards. Purchase a standard wired or wireless router depending on which kind of card the computers have.
Connect an Ethernet cable from the outgoing port on your cable or DSL modem to the 'WAN' port on the router. Connect Ethernet cables between the three computers and the other ports on the router if you are using a wired device. Click on the 'Start' button on the computer's desktop and then click on 'Control Panel.' Click on the 'Network Center' option and then choose the option to 'Connect to a Network.' Repeat the process for the other two computers.
Check the ports on the back or side of your printer to see if it already has an Ethernet port or if it only has a standard USB port. Connect an Ethernet cable from the printer to an open port on the router if it has an Ethernet port. Purchase an Ethernet to USB connector if the printer doesn't have an Ethernet cable and use it to connect an Ethernet cable into the USB port. Buy a wireless network adapter that plugs into a USB port instead if you are using a wireless router.
Access the 'Start' menu again on one of the computers and go back into the Control Panel. Click on 'Printers' and then choose the option to 'Add a Printer.' Click on the option that says 'Network Printer' and then choose the name of your printer from the list of options. Click 'OK' to connect the printer to the computer.
Repeat the process for the other two computers so they can also access the printer.
