How to Send a Fax From a Canon Pixma 700 (11 Steps)
Connect a phone cable to an open telephone line, and connect the other end to the port labeled 'L' on the back of the Pixma MX700. If you wish, the other phone port on the back of the MX700 can be used for a telephone or answering machine.
Push the 'FAX' button on the front control panel of the Pixma MX700, then push the 'Menu' button.
Use the directional buttons on the control panel to select the 'Maintenance/Settings' icon. Push 'OK.'
Highlight the 'Device Settings' icon, then push 'OK.'
Highlight 'FAX Settings,' then push 'OK.'
Highlight 'User Settings,' then push 'OK.'
Highlight 'Telephone Line Type,' then push 'OK.'
Use the menu items to indicate whether your phone line is a rotary or touch-tone line. Push 'OK.'
Open the scanner and place the document that you want to send as a fax face-down on the glass. If you have a multi-page document, place it in the document feeder at the top of the top of the Pixma MX700.
Enter the phone number that you want to send the fax to using the numeric keypad on the printer control panel.
Push the 'Color' button to send the fax in color, or push the 'Black' button to send the fax in black and white.
