How to Uninstall All Lexmark Software From My PC
Download a free software program called Revo Uninstall. Install the software to your C:\Program Files directory. This tool is much more comprehensive and effective than the standard Windows operating system “Add Remove Programs” utility. You will be able to use it for other uninstall routines in the future.
Start the Revo program from the icon on your desktop. Revo will quickly provide a listing of all the installed software on your machine. Look for the Lexmark software entries and any other software programs you want to remove. Double click on the first Lexmark software entry. When the Revo program prompts you to confirm you want to remove the Lexmark title, click “Yes.”
Select the “Advanced” cleaning cycle and click “Next.” You will be prompted to confirm the deletion again after a short scan. Click “Yes.” If you receive another prompt, regarding the deletion of “shared files,” click “Yes to All.” The deletion process will continue.
Click “Next” when the green progress bar stops advancing and the radio button “Next” becomes active. Revo will hunt for more leftover Lexmark program files. A report regarding “Leftover Registry Items” will appear. Place a check in the top box, usually labeled “My Computer.” This will populate all the boxes in the rerpot with check marks. Click “Delete.” Confirm again that you wish to delete these registry entries by clicking “Next.” When the deletion is completed click “Finish.”
Search through the Revo list for any more Lexmark software programs. Uninstall these programs using the previous steps. When you have exhausted Revo’s list of potential programs to uninstall, reboot your computer.
Check your desktop. The Lexmark printer should not appear on your desktop now. If the Lexmark printer icon does appear on your desktop, double click it as if to open the program. In most cases the icon will be “dead.” Right mouse click on the dead icon and choose “Delete” to remove the dead icon from your desktop.
Go to Start>Control Panel>Printers and Faxes. The Lexmark printer should not appear on this list of installed printers. If you find a Lexmark listing, right mouse click on the icon and select “Delete” and then confirm your choice by clicking “Yes.”
Navigate to Start/Run and type “regedit” into the Run box. This will open your Registry program. Click on the “Edit” tab. Choose “Find.” Type the word “Lexmark” into the Find box. The registry will look for any entries containing the word “Lexmark.” The search should produce no results after running Revo. If any “Lexmark” entries do appear, right mouse click on them and choose “Delete.” Confirm you want to delete the registry listing and click “Yes.” Close the registry file when you are finished.
