How to Reset an HP D2500 Printer Cartridge

Remove any of the printer’s USB cables attached to the computer before performing anything. Restart the computer when the cables have been removed.
Take out the printer’s ink cartridges by undoing the clips inside the printer and pulling the cartridges out. Return the locking clips to their original position and shut the printer door.
Turn the printer’s power off and unplug the unit. Leave the printer off for just under one minute and then plug it back in. Do not plug the USB cable back into the computer just yet.
Insert one ink cartridge and print a test page from the printer. If the page prints correctly, insert the other cartridge and print a second test page to ensure there are no errors in either cartridge.
Plug the USB cables back into the computer and print something from the computer to test that it works properly.

Remove the USB cables from the computer and restart the computer.
Take out the printer ink cartridges, as with a soft reset, and remove the paper from the printer tray. Close the printer door when the cartridges have been removed.
Unplug the power from both the back of the printer and the wall or surge protector. Open the back door of the printer and find the clutch button. The button is above the paper output tray, on the left.
Pull the clutch toward the back of the printer and move the printer’s back wheels upward two full times. Let go of the clutch and continue rolling the wheels two times. Move the internal wheel up until it clicks into place.
Close the printer’s back door and plug the printer back into the wall. Turn the unit on and place the paper back into the tray.
Return one cartridge to its place and print a test page. If it works correctly, put the second cartridge in its place and print another test page.
Connect the USB cables to the computer and print a test page from the computer.
